A.An Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) provides authorisation to travel to and enter Qatar for the purpose of tourism or family visits. An ETA is not a work visa. Individuals who are not eligible for visa-free entry, but who hold a valid residence permit or visit visa to either Schengen countries, Australia, Canada, UK, USA or New Zealand, can obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)by completing an online application prior to travelling.

A.An Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is valid for travellers who hold a valid residence permit or visit visa to Schengen countries, Australia, Canada, UK, USA or New Zealand.
Q.What is Online Tourist Visa for Qatar? How is it different from ETA?
A.Online Tourist Visas are for the individuals who wish to travel to Qatar and are not eligible for Qatar ETA. Your eligibility for tourist visa or ETA differs on the basis of your nationality, residency or visa permits.
Q.Who is eligible for Qatar tourist visa?
A.Individuals who are not eligible for ETA but they are nationals to either of the countries listed below, can obtain a tourist visa by completing an online application prior to travelling.

Q.How do I know the which visa type to apply for?
A.. Your visa type will be automatically selected by our system based on your date of application, length of stay in Qatar, itinerary, nationality, country of residence and purpose of visit.
Q.Why should I use the online application system?
A.By applying online you do not have to find a local sponsor in Qatar, and will receive a response in just a few days.
You can also submit all the required documents, information and pay for ETA or tourist visa fees from home.
If your ETA or tourist visa application is approved, we will forward the ETA or tourist visa copy through email on your registered email ID.
Q.When can I apply for an ETA or tourist visa for Qatar?
A.You can apply for an ETA or tourist visa a maximum of 90 days and a minimum of 5 working days before you travel.
We recommend that you apply as early in advance as possible.
Q.Do I need to apply for an ETA or tourist visa at the same time as I book my tickets?
A.No: you can apply for an ETA or tourist visa any time up to 5 working days before you travel. .
Q.How long does it take to get an ETA or tourist visa for Qatar?
A.Provided all required documents are submitted correctly, ETA or tourist visas are normally issued within 5 working days of your application.
Q.What is the procedure to apply for a Qatar ETA or tourist visa online and how should make a payment?
A.To complete an ETA or tourist visa application, follow these steps:
Step 1: Click on "Apply here" option on Home page to fill the application form.
Step 2: Provide the required information and click “submit” to complete your application.
Step 3: Click “Pay” to complete the procedure. This is a SECURE ENCRYPTED PAYMENT SYSTEM. Once your payment is successful you will receive a confirmation email from us.
Q.What documents do I need to apply? Do all family members need to submit documents?
A.Every passenger requiring an ETA or tourist visa will need to submit scan coloured copies of their:
1Passport information (bio page) /picture page(s)
2A passport-size photo
3Airline reservation (Qatar Airways passengers are not required to submit their reservation information)
4If you are staying in a hotel, you are required to submit a copy of your hotel reservation/confirmation OR
5If staying with Qatari resident (friend or relative), an invitation letter from this resident along with his / her Qatar resident visa copy, Qatar ID, Passport first / bio page OR
6 If this friend / relative is a Qatari national then his / her Qatari national ID and invitation letter is required.
The main applicant (from each family travelling together) will also need to submit:
1Proof of Residency, e.g. Resident card, Resident visa, Utility bill, Tenancy contract, Phone bill, Credit / Debit card bill, Official printed address page on passport.
2In some cases, other supporting documents, such as marriage certificates, etc., may also be required: we will contact you directly if this is the case.
If you qualify for an ETA, you will need to provide any one or more of the following:
1Proof of residence
2Proof of valid visa held for your residential status
3 Proof of valid visitor visa held for any one of the following countries:
Australia, Canada, GCC, New Zealand, Schengen countries, USA or UK.
In addition, the following supporting documents, if available, will help in obtaining an ETA or tourist visa, and can be submitted during the application process, under the ‘Additional Documents’
1Documents which show investments of USD $8,000 or more.
2Income tax papers which show an annual gross income of USD $8,000 or more.
3Evidence of travel in the last five years to any of the following countries:
QATAR, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Schengen countries, USA or UK.
Q.My passport is expiring soon – can I still get an ETA or tourist visa for Qatar?
A.Qatar requires all visitors to have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival. If your passport is valid for less than 6 months, you will need to renew it before you can apply for an ETA or tourist visa.
Q.Do children or infants need an ETA/ tourist visa for Qatar?
A.Yes. All passengers, including children and infants must have a visa to enter Qatar. This also includes infants travelling on parents’ laps. We are unable to process visas for children endorsed on parent’s passports.
Q.How will I receive my ETA/ tourist visa for Qatar?
A.All visas are sent by email, to the email address given at the time of the application process.
Q.If I want to stopover in Qatar on both my outward and return trips, do I need an ETA/ visa? for each stopover?
A.Yes: you need a new ETA/ visa each time you enter Qatar.
Based on your itinerary, you can apply for more than one ETA/visa through this system, provided the duration between first exit and second entry is minimum 5 working days. Each ETA/visa application is a separate process – once you have completed your first visa application, please restart the process again for the Qatar ETA/visa. The second ETA/visa can be processed only when the ETA/visa holder exits Qatar on the first ETA/visa held.
